We are pleased to announce the third Reframing Our Language Experience (ROLE) Symposium. This year, the conference will take place over two days, with an in-person workshop on 9 April and an online conference on 10 April. In-person activities will be hosted at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
This conference brings together research which engages with issues surrounding how language experience is characterized, particularly research which questions and provides alternatives to harmful and inaccurate framings. This includes theoretical work and/or presentations of original empirical findings. This year, we have a special interest in presentations that consider the relationship between cultural/community resilience and language, voice, and identity. We will also showcase research situated in non-Anglo-North American contexts.

The Reframing Our Language Experience (ROLE) Collective (http://www.rolecollective.org) was established in 2022 with the intent of bringing together researchers, clinicians, policy makers, and educators to move away from linguistic injustice that has been created by native speaker ideologies.

The online portion of the event will be ASL interpreted by trilingual interpreters (from spoken Spanish and English to ASL).

Nos complace anunciar el tercer Simposio Reframing Our Language Experience (ROLE). Este año, la conferencia se llevará a cabo durante dos días: un taller presencial el 9 de abril y una conferencia en línea el 10 de abril. Las actividades presenciales se realizarán en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
Esta conferencia reúne investigaciones que abordan temas relacionados con la caracterización de la experiencia lingüística, en particular aquellas que cuestionan y ofrecen alternativas a enfoques perjudiciales e inexactos. Esto incluye trabajos teóricos y/o presentaciones de hallazgos empíricos originales. Este año, tenemos un interés especial en presentaciones que consideren la relación entre la resiliencia cultural/comunitaria y el lenguaje, la voz y la identidad. También presentaremos investigaciones realizadas en contextos no angloamericanos.

El Colectivo Reinterpretando Nuestra Experiencia Lingüística (ROLE) (http://www.rolecollective.org) se fundó en 2022 con el objetivo de reunir a investigadores, clínicos, responsables políticos y educadores para superar la injusticia lingüística generada por las ideologías de los hablantes nativos.
